It's never what's expected, but it's always enough. Creativity is curious like that. I try and put it away for a few weeks before judging. There's no way to see when close to the work. But after a few weeks, perspective returns. That's the difference between zooming-in and zooming-out.
Deep in the details nothing feels right. It's never good enough. There's always another problem to be fixed. But taking a few steps back changes the feel. Perfect is replaced with soul. Looking from such a position is the long-overdue exhale to the tension of the inhale When starting.
Put it down. Try to let it go. Revisit. And then see if it still matters. See if it still has your heart.
